Chief Technology Officer
Nyakeh J.B. Yormah is a Chief Technology Officer at the Ministry of Information and Communications, currently attached to the Office of the President and that of the Chief Minister to provide technical, strategic and policy advice on ICT matters and the implementation of various ICT solutions.
Nyakeh has vast experience in the deployment and management of network infrastructure, and thus, also provides a supervisory and oversight role over several Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the Administrative block of the Government of Sierra Leone. During Nyakeh’s six years as a civil servant, he contributed immensely to the designing of the E-Government network, the review of the National ICT Policy and the development of the Cybersecurity Policy. Moreover, he provided technical advice in the upgrading of the Joint Maritime Committee (JMC) network infrastructure and the deployment of the Digital Personnel Management System at HRMO that ensures effective and efficient human resource management. Prior to his appointment in the Civil Service, he worked several years as a senior engineer in the Telecommunications industry and also at the Central Bank of Sierra Leone as Senior ICT personnel, where he was part of the team that deployed the Electronics Payment System which automated financial transactions and activities between the Central Bank and other Commercial Banks and Financial entities.
Nyakeh holds a bachelors degree, with honours, in Electrical & Electronics Engineering at the Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone and a Masters of Science degree in Information Technology at the University of Madras, India.
